The ONV Cultural Center has announced that the award will be reconsidered after Chinmayi and Parvathi objected to the awarding of the ONV award to Vairamuthu. Will Kerala's highest ONV award be given to a person accused of sexual misconduct? Singer Chinmayi, actress Parvathi and many feminists protested. Actress Parvathy in particular said, “ONV is our pride. His contribution as a poet and songwriter is irreplaceable. It also nurtured our culture. Our hearts have benefited from his literary work. It is a great disgrace to give an award in the name of someone who has been the subject of so many sexual harassment complaints, ”songwriter Vairamuthu condemned the nomination for the ONV award and questioned Adoor Gopalakrishnan, director of the ONV Cultural Center.
